The office of Clerk and Master maintains all files and financial records of the Chancery Court. Chancery Court is a Court of equity. The current Clerk and Master is Patty Gains.   This office files pleadings, issues summons and subpoenas, prepares dockets, collects court costs and receives and disburses payments ordered by the Court. This office also processes, collects and/or sells property with delinquent taxes, among many other duties. The Clerk and Master is a quasi-judicial position established by the Constitution of the State of Tennessee and as such, the Clerk can hold hearings, report findings to the Court and hold judicial sales. This office is appointed to six-year terms.

Office is located on the ground floor of the courthouse.
